Duplicity

Where you going now
I know you’ve got somehow
An ambidextrous quartet mind
Switching from here to there
From nowhere to somewhere
In little flashes of minutes in time
Don’t walk any line
Be it left or be it right
Just walk the straight shine
That shines in the middle of the night light
Filled with psychedelic might of your aging kind
Does it feel like the schizophrenia they talked off?
Does it feel like the duplicity that I’m so used to?
Fed by you and your shattered dreams
Duplicity – you…

Cry me a few tears now
With frantic lies to hide away the guilt in your mind
As they surge through your soul
Building, burning a shallow yellow flame inside
Why don’t we just settle for nothing
A few lies exchanged for the freedom of your soul
Whatever you do that won’t make it not a little bit nice
Just a pile of lies weighing down, weighing you down
Pounds pounding through walls of mush
Squashing, splashing all over
The floors now all red with your blood
Am I the psycho of your dreams when you screamed?
Am I the victim of your planned duplicity schemes?
Fed by you and your shattered dreams
Duplicity – you…

In me, building hate
Building shame
Flipping through pages of your memories
Deciding your fate
You and your duplicity

I loved the line “Why don’t we just settle for nothing”…it reminded me of some of the emotions over a past relationship and what I was thinking at the time…very strong poem.
